Use
You can access your LDAP directory and edit its entries using the functions described below. As these functions depend on the directory product that you are using, you should also consult the documentation for your product.
Prerequisites
· You have completed the Customizing
· You are logged on to the LDAP directory service.
Procedure
On the Directory Service Connection screen, choose one of the following directory-dependent LDAP protocol functions:
· Find
The Find in Directory screen appears. You can use the fields here to restrict your search for a directory entry. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example. There is input help for the Search Depth and Mode fields. If you do not restrict the search and choose Execute, the system displays all entries below the specified base entry.
· Create
The Create Entry screen appears. Here you can create an entry in the directory using the input fields. If you fill out the Number of Values field under Attributes and confirm with ENTER, the corresponding number of lines is automatically created in the Values table. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example.
· Compare
The Compare Attribute Value screen appears. There, you can compare the value specified in the Distinguished Name field with the directory entry defined under Attribute. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example. There is input help for the Mode field.
· Modify
The Modify Entry screen appears. There, you can change a directory entry using the fields available. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example. There is input help for the Operation and Mode fields.
· Options
The Edit Options screen appears. There, you can explicitly view or set options for the LDAP interface. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example. There is input help for the Write/Read Options and Option Number fields. For information about the meaning of the options and their function in the directory server, see the documentation for your product:

§ 8: LDAP_OPT_REFERRALS
§ 9: LDAP_OPT_RESTART
§ 17: LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION
§ 49: LDAP_OPT_ERROR_NUMBER
To write options ("W" mode), enter the value to be set in the Option Value column. Choose Execute. The system displays the successfully edited options. If options are missing in the output table, this means that your platform does not support this option.
· Rename
The Rename Entry screen appears. There, you can create a new entry for an existing directory entry and specify that the old entry is to be deleted. The F1 help provides you with an explanation of each field and possibly an example.
· Delete
