Question: Hi all
we have just started to use sap r3 4.7/ora9.2/w2k3 and i'm new to sap basis.
i want to transfer a live client ' prd 999 ' to 'dev 600' .i went thru few articles on remote client copy and tried to run a test copy!.but the test run was terminated within few minutes and the cc log says that a particular table has incompatible fields.
later i executed 'rfc sys comparision' from scc9 and it lists out few table definition differences and also the reasons but i couldnt understand those terms.
what might be the problem and how to overcome from this
pls advice me
thanks

Answer:
Try doing a client export SCC8 its more stable. Remember that repository objects will not be taken over. You will in effect be taking over client dependent information
Answer:
hi all
thanks mr_nice for ur responce.
but let me make it clear that
#1 i'm trying to copy a client from prd (live client) to 'dev' server for testing
purpose
#2 i created a new client on 'dev' and logged on as sap* ,but scc8 denies to execute with this user id
do i need to run client copy using some other profile rather than sap_all ?
pls advice
thanks
