USH02 Table limit?

Question: Anyone know if there is a limit on the number of entries for this table? We have over 1 million records for this table (us archive? that's funny) and I wanted to know if there is any limit on this table size?

I was at a past client where the UST12 table filled and we could not make any more security changes, and had to get special permission from SAP to delete entries to this table (the archive would have taken days).

I wanted to ask my security peeps prior to starting querying my basis folks on researching this. Thanks.

Answer:
The only limit on either table is the file extents that basis allows for a table not the table itself. there are archive programs (Tcodes) for the history table mostly the SU8x tcodes.

The Function module that sysncs the USTxx table will delete the extranious USTxx entries, yet another reason to minimize roles and the authorizations inthe roles.

You MUST runthe function module with option 'X', Any other option does nothing.

Answer:
John,

Thanks as always for the excellent comment. Our problem is not an tremendous amount of roles, but users. We have over 500K accounts in our CRM system which just compounds our change records. The system right now is only a few months old, and the initial creation of the user records resulted in 800K entries in the USH02 table alone.

BTW, these are mostly external users (customers). We use our CRM authentication for our website and all of our online products. (soon to be webshop as well).

As long as there is no limit on these tables (we will start archiving them soon), then I have no concerns.

Thanks.
