Creating and Editing a Calendar Schema(CCMS)

Use

A calendar schema specifies which days should be considered during the aggregation to weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly values. You can create your own schemata or edit existing schemata.

Create a calendar schema to ensure that only the periods that are relevant for you are stored in the Central Performance History (CPH). You can, for example, remove weekends or public holidays from the calculation of aggregates.

Procedure

1. You can call the editing of calendar schemata from several functions:

¡ In the overview screen of the CPH (transaction RZ23N), choose, in the Data Collection and Reorganization group box, the Calendar Schemata pushbutton.

¡ On the screens on which there is an input field for entering a calendar schema, you can use the selection help to obtain a list of all existing calendar schemata. On this screen, choose Display Details (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

2. In both cases, the Edit Calendar Schema screen appears. Here you can view the definition of the selected calendar schema:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

3. To edit a different calendar schema, enter the desired schema in the Name of the Calendar Schema input field. To create a new calendar schema, choose the Create Schema pushbutton (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

4. Enter the desired name and a description for the schema.

5. You can formulate a condition to select certain days in the Day Definition group box. In this way, you can define days using the date and the weekday, and further restrict this set using a public holidays calendar, factory calendar, or a single public holiday.

Example

Setting

Condition

Day, month, year: any(*);
Week day:
Saturday;
Additional restrictions: None

All days that fall on a Saturday

Day, month, year: any(*);
Week day:
Friday;
Additional restrictions: Public Holiday Calendar

All public holidays, in accordance with the public holiday calendar, that fall on a Friday

Day, month, year, week day: any(*);
Additional restrictions: Individual Public Holiday (
Carnival Monday) Holiday (Carnival Monday)

Carnival Monday, irrespective of the date or week day on which the day falls

Day, month, week day: any(*);
Year: 2003;
Additional restrictions: Factory Calendar

All non-working days during the year 2003, in accordance with the factory calendar

Note

Edit public holiday and factory calendars using transaction SCAL (see Structure linkCalendar); you can use the selection help to determine the existing public holiday and factory calendars.

6. In the Operation group box, you can determine how the days defined above should be handled:

Setting

Description

Discard Days Above

The days defined above are not included in the aggregation or reporting

Keep Days Above

The days defined above are included in the aggregation and reporting

Use Day Schema

For the days defined above, only the hours that are selected in the corresponding day schema are included in the aggregation and reporting

7. Together, a day definition and an operation form a day assignment, which specifies which days are included in the aggregation, and how they are included. Choose the Add (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) pushbutton to include the day assignment created above in the definition of the calendar schema.

8. Repeat steps 5 to 7, until you have created all required day assignments.

Note

If you have specified different operations in different day assignments for single days, the day assignment that is further down the list of assignments is always the one that is active.

9. If you want to delete a day assignment, choose the Deletepushbutton (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) in the Day Assignments group box.

10. If you want to check how the calendar schema handles the data for which days, choose the pushbutton Check Calendar Schema (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text). You can see whether the data for the days of the current month is used for the aggregation, not used for the aggregation, or whether only certain hours are used, based on a day schema. To check the consequences of the calendar schema for a different time period, enter the period in the Time Interval group box.

11. Save your settings.
