Local printer access

Question: Hi all,

I have given access to S_SPO_DEV object with value %LOC which I believe is for local printer access.Still users cannot print on the local printers installed on windows Pcs .It is giving following su53 screen shto.

Object S_SPO_DEV Spool: Device authorizations
Object class BC_A Basis: Administration

Field Value

Spool: Long device names
LOCAL PRINTER
I think if I add "LOCAL PRINTER" , it will solve the problem.
Any other way out ??
Please advice,.
Thnkas,
suman

Answer:
Check SPAD for your local printer device name. Depending on where it's installed, it could be %LOC, LOCL, and some set it up as amazingly, PORTAL.. lol

Just look at the available output devices, and also be sure SAPLPD is installed locally.

Some of our other basis folks might have more input, or can validate my comments..

Answer:
Its better to select the device name from the drop down while in profile generator. No problems with guessing the device names.
