In SU24, the value for S_TRANSPRT set to "check"

Question: Hi, In SU24 for transaction VA01, auth objects such as S_RFC, S_DEVELOP, S_TRANSPRT are marked as checked indicating that VA01 could potentially execute an auth check against them. Can someone help me understand why VA01 would ever check S_TRANSPRT as well as some of the others? By the way, we are on V4.7.

Thanks,

Kerry

Answer:
It means nothing, other than some "summer student" adding it to SU24 through some convoluted "logic" and SAP wil not let you delete it form the list.

There are blocks of code that are re-used in many transactions or function modules that are in function groups that may have a check as you describe, so sense there is an association someone added it to the SU24 entries. There is also a scenario where a pull-down menu path takes you to a location where these objects may be used but in fact has no relationship to the originating code other than the pulldown link, so the objects were aded.
If the code checks for it you will fail on it if you are not authorized, provided the column marked in SU24 is not 'N' which causes you to pass the check regardless of your access.

A ST01 authorization trace will list what you need.
