CUA

Question: We are setting up a prototype to test CUA in our environment. We have chosen our Solution Manager system to be our central system, do you recommend creating a new client in this central system or since the majority of the settings are client independent just using a client that already exists?

Thanks

Answer:
I would take a seperate client (although indeed most settings are client independant). Its an extra "wall" of security. You can limit the users who have to log in to that client (more users means potentially more possibilities in security breaches).

Answer:
It really matters not as with the right access in ANY client on the system containing CUA you can infiltrate the CUA... I for one would not even use it unless you have Workplace supporting ONE Production client and I woul ddo it reluctantly. CUA is not robust enough to support a multi-system multi-client landscape. It generate 100's of IDOC on Every save and sents them weather a change is made or not. you further have to logon tot he target systems and client to manage the IDOCS, even though the CUA saya allis saved an ok many of the IDOC fail in the target, so you have to manage them, and once you are on why not maintian the users...

Answer:
Thanks. I tend to agree with you re: not implementing it in the Production environment. At this stage, I am planning to only implement in Dev and Integration to simplify maintenance as we have multiple Dev and Integration systems and clients.
