Changing/Assigning authorisation to tables

Question: Can anyone help. How do we assign authorisation group (or create a new group ) to user table so that SAP security can grant maintenance access to users as required.

Is there no other way that I can change the authorization on TCode SE11, or any other transaction that will update TDDAT and V_DDAT indirectly. Because SUCU changes the view V_DDAT directly and that's not what I want to do.

SUCU is the proper way of doing it, I don't see what the problem is?
