am trying to assign only the table groups that a user actually needs, therefore knowing what tables make up a group would provide the necessary decision making input. Thanks once again.

The authorization groups of tables are in *DDAT* (?). You can add new auth groups if the available ones do not meet your requirements.

I think the transaction is SE54 for this.

It's in table TDDAT and you can also use transaction SUCU to maintain this
