Changing roles in ERP 2005

Question: hello,

when adding a transaction to a role, and pressing the pen for change, it goes into the object window as before, but if there are objects that is not related to a transaction in the role, it removes the object, which can cause problems if there are z transactions and objects related to them, allthough they are not related in SU24.

Do you know what is the reason when pressing the pen that you have to look at all the objects that you before set to for example deactivate or have given the value 03 (display) although you give access to a 02 (change)transaction.
Because this had already been set once to 03, why does it give me the same object again with the value 02 and 03 in it?

thank you
Vincent

Answer:
You avoid this by configuring SU24 correctly for all transactions.

PFCG is working correctly by removing the auth objects that are linked to the transaction that you are removing. When you add a transaction and go in in change mode, it defaults to Maintenance Type "Read old status & merge with new data". This then compared SU24 against what you have in your role. If you have got auth objects in Changed Status, it will add in copies of the object where appropriate.

You can force PFCG to not do this by selecting Expert Mode for prof gen and "edit old status". This is a bodge however and you should use SU24 to configure the objects & transactions.

Answer:
Assuming you have just gone through an upgrade, have U run SU25 after the upgrade.
