Changing and Transporting Entries in TSTCA

Question: Hi Everyone,

We need to be able to change the authorization object field for a transaction (SE93). However we only want to transport the authorization field entry not the entire transaction itself.
If you make the change in SE93, the system creates a transport for the entire transaction. I know that you can transport the key in TSTCA for transaction, but this is only if you like the auth object on the transaction as is.

Is there any program, view table, that can be used. Thanks for your help.

Answer:
No and you sould not just transport the TSTCA entry. SAP is trying to protect you from a serious mistake. You MUst transport it as SAP specifies or the Authorizaiton object you add may not work. There is, as with most things in SAP , alot going on behind the sceens which must be take care of. for one the field( CINFO[sp?]) in TSTC is adjusted in when you make an addition of an auth object in SE93.

Also note the advent of S_TCODE and PFCG negates the need to use TSTCA.

Answer:
Thanks John. So after changing the auth object field, we must transport the entire transaction code via SE93.

Also note the advent of S_TCODE and PFCG negates the need to use TSTCA.

Auditors are questioning me why tstca is not logged. And i searched here until i came with the above statement.

John, do u meant that with the use of s_tcode and pfcg, tstca is no longer needed?

Please advise.

Answer:
TSTCA data was used when there was no S_TCODE it is an on-off switch that picks up no data anf is executed BEFORE the tcode starts, just like S_TCODE. It is NOT needed. There is even a RSUSRxxx Report that removes all the values and loads TSTCA with S_TCODE and the tcode value.

Answer:
seems like note 67766 is contradict to what u wrote, john?
